Types of Lessons:
I offer 30 minute or 45 minute private lessons depending on the need of each student. This time will include piano repertoire, music theory, ear training, and music appreciation. Tuition: Currently, my monthly rates for piano lessons are as follows: 30 minute lessons: $80.00/month 45 minute lessons: $120.00/month Please bear in mind that some months will have an extra lesson for which there is no additional charge while other months will have one less lesson due to holidays. Lessons will be billed on a monthly basis, and tuition and any material fees will be due no later than the 10th of the month. Materials: Books and other necessary supplies will be purchased by the teacher and the fee will be added to the following month’s tuition after it has arrived. I will send an email with the updated monthly total as a reminder one week before tuition is due. Summer Policy: Lessons continue year round, including the summer. If your student would like to maintain their spot and time in the studio, they will be required to take at least six lessons during the months of June, July, and August. Studio Behavior: Please no food or drink (except water) in the room while the lesson is ongoing. Parents/guardian are invited to sit in the lesson if they would like. However, I reserve the right to ask the parent/guardian not to sit in if their presence is affecting the lesson’s quality. All electronic devices must be turned off during the lesson. Cancellation: A thirty-day notice is requested if a student wishes to discontinue lessons. If you choose to take a break from lessons, I cannot guarantee your lesson time will remain open. I reserve the right to discontinue lessons for any of the following reasons: does not show up on time, forgets materials consistently, is not respectful, does not practice, does not progress, etc. Teacher Absence: I reserve the right to miss a lesson due to illness or professional commitments. I will either hire a qualified substitute or reschedule the lesson. |
Student Responsibilities:
The student will be responsible to practice at home each week until the assignment has been completed, to bring their materials each week, and to ask questions whenever anything is unclear. Parents Responsibilities: The parent should bring the students on time, insure they have practiced during the week, provide a quality instrument, and allow for a productive learning environment at the home. Teacher Responsibilities: I will provide the instrument for the lesson, the music needed for the student, and the instruction to move the student forward. I will always strive to make the lesson fun and engaging for the student. Attendance: If the student arrives late, the lesson will not continue past the allotted time. Absences due to illness or family emergency are allowed providing that at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice has been given by phone. Lessons will be rescheduled as the schedule permits or on the last weekend of the month. If the lesson is canceled in less than twenty-four hours, the lesson will not be rescheduled and the student will not receive a refund. No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness. If you think you will be delayed, please call to let me know. Practice: Students should practice a minimum of four days a week outside of the day of the lesson. This is the best way for the student to progress at the piano. The student must have an instrument to practice on before the start of the first lesson. The piano can be electronic or acoustic, but it must have 72 keys and a pedal. The home instrument will greatly affect the student’s ability to succeed in their musical education. Please let me know if you need recommendations on purchasing an instrument |
